So, my birthday happens to be the day before this month’s Fetish Night (bummer, I know), but I don’t have one of the tickets, and I don’t see anywhere on the ticket here in the website that its free before 10:00 PM. My question is: does the 10:00 rule not apply to the New Year’s ball?
Hi Amanda – if your birthday is the Friday before Fetish Ball you can still have your birthday bash here for free. Just make sure you know the rules and such before hand :)
As far as Saturday during our New Years Fetish Ball because it’s a special event patrons need to pay the ticket price even before 10pm. You can find more details about Fetish Ball on our event page for it on Facebook here
For anyone reading this at this point, please note that Fetish Ball is currently not featured as one of the days where free birthday bashes are allowed… but you still have a whole week from your birthday to have your bash, so you can still take advantage of it ;)

Another question for Fetish Ball – We are traveling into SLC that day (we are not local…) specifically for the event. Is it permissible to bring in a copy of the “flyer” from the website as opposed to finding one at the club or one of the Utah/SLC papers?

On the back of the fetish fliers there is a “get in free” pass.
The rule is that a guest must have one of these originals physically in hand,, so printouts would not work for that.

Do I need to be in the theme attire in order to get in the club? Because it’s my first time attending and I don’t know how things are run there.
No you don’t have to be dressed according to the theme of the month. Wear what you feel like! If you feel like dressing up for the them in the future, that’s awesome!

You do not “need” to dress in theme to be let it – it’s just fun and always appreciated :)

Have you had or thought of having a Lolita theme?
Not specifically no, but that sort of goes along the lines of Naught School Girls & Boys ;) which is during the start of the school year in August.
So when, and what is the next fetish night? Had fun in November, ran into some old friends. Strobe lights upstairs where a bit much. Got to busy to go downstairs but that is all part of the fun. looking forward to december. there is one in december isn’t there?

hey im going to fetish tonight
what is the dress code? im a guy so i dont rly dress up in costumes or anything… and what kinda music do you play? im guessing dark electro house stuff? like bloody beetroots etc?
We don’t really have a dress code per say – but we’re always happy to encourage and then see our guests come in theme inspired costumes :) As for music downstairs is definitely rockin the dark electro plus gothic, EBM, etc. While upstairs is more alternative dance, techno, and some pop. It’s a very eclectic mix and one you won’t hear at any other club in the state!
I love fetish night! Knowing the theme helps make the night even better. (I’m old, being in costume helps me feel “in”) Facebook sucks. any other way I can find the theme-of-the-month?

The Fetish Ball is on the last Saturday of each month,,, and its pretty freak’in popular ;)
I am the DJ for the fetish ball,, and for all of the Saturday nights on the main level…
((the downstairs level is a whole scene of its own,,, industrial, goth, synth pop, dark 80’s, etc. – but I definitely try to keep it real on the main floor too for sure!)
the music on a fetish ball is slightly ‘darker’ than normal, because it is a theme night, but all Saturdays have about the same ‘feeling’… so you will not miss out, no mater which one you come on ;)

when you come, you should take advantage of 2 things since you are new around here:

Area51 is a 18+ club right now so as long as you have a legal photo id you should be good to go – even on Fetish Night :) So come on over to dance and have fun :) (our bars however are 21+ of course).
